Dear Friends, First, I would like to take a moment to thank - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends, First, I would like to take a moment to thank EVERYONE for their votes and shown support as we enjoyed this fall’s fun PennLive Marching Band Brawl contest. Word is spreading quickly that the JHS Marching Band is the official winner of this year’s contest and I would like to share some personal thoughts. Through the years (or dare I say decades?), I have learned that the band members’ quality character and great personalities go a long way to creating a positive season. Secondly, strong parental and grandparental (is that a word?) support is extremely important as the band members and their families try to juggle what is often a very hectic schedule for all concerned parties. Of course, throw in just a bit of student talent and we have the makings for what can become a very positive season. Based on initial reports, the JHS band received over 80,000 total votes and EVERYONE who took time to submit even one vote played a part in the band members’ well-deserved recognition. This fall season has truly been a special one for me personally and I cannot begin to express my sincere gratitude to the JHS band members and the COUNTLESS people who have shown their tremendous support. Also, it is important to note that the PennLive Marching Band Brawl contest created well-deserved recognition for ALL high school Music programs. We need to keep The Arts as an important part of all school curriculum offerings and the PennLive staff members deserve our thanks for providing great publicity regarding the importance of how music ensemble membership can positively impact ones school community. As for tomorrow evening’s (Friday, Oct. 31st) football game at Williams Valley High School, what was already chosen as PennLive’s ‘game of the week’ through supportive JHS football fan voting is now turning into an even more special evening. As part of the JHS BIG RED Marching Band’s HALFTIME performance, PennLive officials will be at the game site to present the band members with a banner recognizing them as winners of the 2014 PennLive Marching Band Brawl contest. Should you wish to attend the game and be part of the excitement, try searching for directions by using the following Williams Valley High School address: WILLIAMS VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL, 10330 STATE ROUTE 209, TOWER CITY PA 17980. Thanks again for supporting our band members, Mr. C
