Dear Friends. I can not tell you what it meant to us to celebrate - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends. I can not tell you what it meant to us to celebrate Rosebuds survival and recovery with so many of you last night. To see her wagging and barking with joy just filled up my heart. Her little costume was made by hand with love from a dear friend and she looked so, so beautiful. Last night was magical. Thank you. Thank all of you. Please remember when we first met Rosey and loaded her into our rescue van she was in the process of dying. Only two years old and desperately ill. Dr. Joe of Reidsville Veterinary Hospital accessed the degree of infection in her young body and ascertained without treatment she would have soon passed away. Its like we pulled her right off deaths doorstep. It was really hard to comfortably stay in the same room with her because of her pungent odor, but look at her now! I know shes just one dog and there are so many others weve yet to meet, but it just feels so good when you can do something to right a tremendous wrong. Its times like these that keep us going. I will remember the Boo Bash forever, and when Im an old lady, Ill still be talking about the wrinkled black dog we saved. I love you folks more than you know. Nights like October 30 make our lives worthwhile. I could not have dreamt a finer celebration. Ive shed happy tears this morning because of all of you. Im glad we brought Livi the laughing gal too. Four and a half months in our local shelter and two failed adoptions later and she finally ends up with us. Shes come full circle now and Im crazy about her. Thank you Chris Crumpton for coming straight from work to show her off and try to keep her costume on! I have never seen those two girls happier. Rose spent two years on a four foot chain so can you imagine what was in her mind with all the festivities. And Livi, well, from abandonment and shelter life straight into a big party! Thank you all again. Ill be floating on air for weeks because of one night at the end of October. Love, Miss Deb Drive 4 Shelter. Special thanks to Lori Webb Lowrimore for the Rosebud cake, Cassandra Leann Marshall for delicious punch (best ever), wonderful PETSENSE manager Cathie Basil for being so gracious and supportive, Jackie Billington for coming from Greensboro for costume fittings and wonderful Jewel for her sparkly handy work, Tracie Burnette for a stunning handmade collar and her hubby for patiently taking tons of photos, every soul who donated to help the next Rose, and always Joan Stembridge the true muscle behind D4S.
