Dear Friends, I have come to know a good News through Pankaj Mohan - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends, I have come to know a good News through Pankaj Mohan which is as below: Professor Vishwanath Tiwari, President of Sahiya Akademi, called me this evening to inform me that Professor Jin Dinghan, former professor of Hindi at Peking University (now retired) and translator of Ramcharit Manas into Chinese and Mrs Kim Yang-shik, a noted poetess, translator of Tagores major works into Korean and founder-president of Tagore Society of Korea and also of the first and only Indian Museum in Seoul, have been nominated as fellows which is the highest honor that Sahitya Akademi confers on literary figures from India and abroad. I have to add that It is a great News. Let us celebrate. Congratulations to the scholars and authors. I has also an idea relating to Madam Kim Yang Shik and had talked to her in this regard, but did not like to share til it is decided finally.. Kim yang shik is a great lover of India and Indians. She is the real host of any Indian who visits Korea. She not only translated my poems into Korean language but also published under a title 새들의 결혼 (Birds wedding or Chiriya Ka Byaha). She wrote a good article too on my poetry which is published in the book and the same was published later on by Mamta Kaliya in Hindi a magazine of central University at Wardha . I think so far this is the only book of Hindi Poetry in Korean. I also translated her poems written out of her experience related to India into Hindi which one may read in the book The Day Breaks O! India published by Ajanta Publications, Delhi in 1999 and was released in Sahitya Akademis Hall. Her other poems translated by me into Hindi are included in an Anthology of Korean poetry Koriyayi Kavita Yatra prepared by me and published by Sahitya Akademi in 1999. I also feel proud for the fact that Kim Yang Shik publishes translation of very well know poem Lamp of the East of Tagore into Hindi on the last cover of her magazine Korean-Indian Culture.Madam Kim Yang Shik is the first and only author of Korea who has got the honor of Padmashri. She has visited India several times and she donates handsome money to JNU for promotion of Korean Studies. She was born in 1931. She is founder -President of Tagore Society of Korea.
