Dear Friends, I would like to make you aware of a new program now available to certain military medal recipients residing in New York State. As of this fall, any member of the United States Armed Forces residing in New York that has earned a Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross or a Bronze Star Award, may receive a decal that shows a copy of the medal and the words Proud Recipient of the given award. I believe that veterans deserve recognition for these hard-won awards. Currently, the Robert Lee Walsh American Legion Post 337, 4th District Commander Mario Cristaldi and Assembly Member Marc Butler are coordinating this project. If you or a veteran you know would like to apply for a decal, please contact my office at (718) 357-3094 or stop by to pick up an application. With this program, we can move one step further in honoring our heroes.
