Dear Friends, It is very hard for me to admit this truth to the few of you on my facebook. But, I feel that I have absolutely no reason to feel ashamed or embarrassed about this situation that my Mom and I are currently in. It could happen to anyone. About seven months ago my Mom and I were evicted from our house that we were renting at the time due to very minimal reasons that couldve been resolved between us and our landlord. He decided to do it the hard way and we had to rush out of our house. We had secured a house in Kentucky that would allow our dogs, because quite frankly we are and will not give them up. We drove all the way down to Kentucky with a U-haul and car loader. Only to find out that the woman rented the house out before we made it down there. We stayed in a hotel till our money ran out, which is incidentally only so much a month because we are both unemployed yet seeking work. The only source of income that my Mother gets at this point is her Social Security each month -- which is not much. Needless to say we did not find any hotel to stay at monthly till we could find work or even decide to come up. The next two months down south we were in and out of hotels and sleeping in our caravan. Which wasnt so bad because it was relatively warm and we managed alright. In October we came back to Michigan when it was clear that our luck down south just did not pan out. We still had the issue of not finding a hotel that we could even live in monthly. Mainly due to having 3 dogs. Well, finally weve found a hotel that we could do that but we cant get there till next month. We have to wait for my Moms Social Security to reload next month. Until then we are sleeping in our caravan, which has become somewhat of a issue because we are down to a quarter of a tank because our van is 12 years old and like all old vehicles is starting to guzzle more then conserve. Weve asked my Fathers family and my Mothers family; neither side would help us previously and its very certain they still do not want to help. Last night it got down to 14 degrees F, with it feeling like 6 degrees F. Our windows were frozen over and we had to constantly turn on the van to defrost them -- which is why we are now low on fuel. At the moment we are in Lapeer, Michigan and we really could use some help -- I hate to ask for help from anyone but I really do not know what to do. We can not go to a shelter because of our dogs and I repeat we will not give up our dogs nor will we go into a warm building all night while they freeze -- that is unfair. Maybe thats the stubborn part of us but really without those dogs I really do not know what we would do right now; they keep us going in this crisis. If anyone can offer any help of any kind it would be greatly appericiated by myself, my Mother and our 3 dogs. I do have a paypal account if that helps to know or if you are in the area that would be even better. God Bless You All
