Dear Friends, It was a pleasure for Gertrude and I to host the clergy to a luncheon at Sanjika Palace on the first day of the year to give thanks to God the Creator for His blessings upon our country in the past year and seek His blessings for the New Year 2015. It is always an inspiration to be in the midst of religious leaders, who are representatives of religious organizations and are committed to working for the improvement of the living standards of the people we lead. I take this time to appreciate the support and prayers I have received from this group of leaders in 2014. When I called for prayers for rain, they all received my request and they organized special prayers in their denominations. It is encouraging that some parts of the country have been receiving rains and we should continue praying that the whole country should receive good rains for this season. We need to stay in this God-given fellowship together and we need to move together in faith, with a purpose and shared vision. Let us use this time and opportunity granted to us by God to improve the ways in which we can do things, with the wisdom we have to share with one another, to improve the living standards of our people. I have so much faith and confidence in the religious leaders and all Malawians regardless of their religion, political affiliation, tribe or race, that together we will take this beautiful country forward.
