Dear Friends, Members, and Clergy of MCC, At the most recent - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends, Members, and Clergy of MCC, At the most recent MCC General Conference held in Chicago IL USA in July 2013, we voted as a denomination to form a Commission on our Statement of Faith. Rev. Elder Dr. Nancy Wilson and MCC’s Governing Board have appointed members to the Commission. We are currently in a multi-year process of reviewing the Statement of Faith and will be presenting updates at General Conference in 2016. The MCC Statement of Faith was worked out over 40 years ago and, with minimal amendments since then, has continued to be a part of our Bylaws. Members of MCC come from a wide variety of spiritual backgrounds and represent the views of many different Christian traditions. So while our Statement of Faith presents a historical snapshot of the denomination at a particular point in time, we do not all hold to the same doctrinal teachings. What continues to bind us together as a denomination is the idea that we are all welcome at Gods table and willingness to journey together in open dialogue. As a part of that dialogue, the Commission covets your participation. We would be honored if you can take a few minutes to answer a survey as we begin our work. https://surveymonkey/s/MCC-Statement-of-Faith-Individuals-Survey-English This survey will be closed on June 30, 2014. Please respond within the next three weeks. A summary report of the survey results will be made available by August 31, 2014. We are committed to offering future opportunities for dialogue and discussion.
