Dear Friends: Over the past three weeks meetings have been held in many NunatuKavut communities as part of our Annual General Assembly process. It has been heartening to see our people come out and get involved. The people have shown a genuine interest, they know the importance of showing up and they are willing to contribute to the important work we do together. The issues we fight for are real and they are important to our families and communities. Whether it is Land Claims, fishing and hunting rights, our environment, health care, or jobs and economic development our people seek some sense of respect and fairness. Our people like many others seek positive change and it is important to know that, that change can come. There are challenges and the climb is steep but thankfully and with good reason our people also see great hope and opportunity. The NunatuKavut Community Council is a significant part of making that hope and opportunity become a reality. We are strong and it is times like these that I am see that strength. The people of NunatuKavut are a proud people and it is times like these that I see that quiet sense of pride rise up. Please take the time this weekend to participate in the Annual General Assembly happening in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Your presence is needed and we have much work left to do. I thank you for your continued encouragement and let there never be a doubt we shall prevail. See you there and take care, Todd
