Dear Friends: Thank you for the many many Happy Birthday greetings and thoughtful messages. It was just awesome to read them all. I am home in beautiful Williams Harbour and celebrating my birthday here was extra special. I might be visiting but am never a visitor. There is much talk about the future of this place but I can honestly say that there has been and continues to be much life in Williams Harbour. Our history is long and like the generations before me my connection to this place and this land is deep and lasting. Regardless of what happens there will always be a Williams Harbour. Our roots are too deep to sever and for so many of us it makes us who we are. We may camp elsewhere but have never left home...we may work abroad but will always understand the land and sea have provided...we may cut new paths but will always know that the traditions of our grandmothers and great grandmothers are alive and well. It is great to be home to spend another Christmas. I miss seeing many of my family and friends and yet can still feel them close in the memories we made together. I know that if home is where the heart is you too are in Williams Harbour. May all of you in your own place and in your way have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
