Dear Friends: This afternoon we finished an outstanding day of business at the Nunatukavut Annual General Assembly. While the big snow fell and the winds whipped up our people came and they stayed. It was a big turnout combined with passionate and heartfelt debate on issues that really matter. Our people spoke with strength and determination and that is why this Assembly has been a great success. Tonight at our banquet we welcomed friends of old and we made new friends. We shared good food and laughter. We shared some of our story and in turn we had others share theirs. Our keynote address was comedian and inspirational speaker Candy Palmater and she “wowed” the room with her awesomeness. In turn we were reminded that we too, each and everyone of us, are awesome, important, and as she said “divinely perfect” just the way we are. The Assembly also took the time to express many thank-you’s for those who have made great contributions to our people and communities. Tomorrow, on November the 8th between 1 and 2 pm we will end our Assembly by gathering near the gate to the road that leads to Muskrat Falls on the south coast highway. It is vital that remind governments and companies, that our fight for fairness and justice is far from over. NunatuKavut has not forgotten and we will continue to act on our responsibility and obligation to carry on that struggle. I invite you to join with us in solidarity and to help make good change happen. Nakummek, what a terrific AGA it has been. Todd Russell
