Dear Friends We are facing one issue on IBM SAN Switches (SAN24B-5 Switch). What is happening is that when we connect the Dark Link Fibre on the IBM Switches on both sites the Primary and the DR Site the link is continuously initializing and this process is not ending. For connecting this Dark Fiber we are using SFP Transceiver 8Gbps 10KM LW. We checked the configurations of the IBM Switches and we couldn’t find where the problem is, since all settings seem to be OK and there were no errors to indicate any configuration problem. What happened under normal circumstances, after the link is connected to both switches a solid green light will be seen and we should be able to access both switches by logging in through one switch. This indicates that both Primary and DR Switches are now merged as one Fabric and they will be acting as one switch. All devices connected to both Primary and DR Site will now be able to communicate with each other. we tried to check on the internet and some manuals for these IBM Switches but we could not get some information relating to this problem, the only information available is that these switches support remote connection , we are not sure if there is any area which we are not doing right. Any quick help from your side will be highly appreciated.
