Dear Friends, We just received word this morning that Lagratta Mitchell died Saturday night at her home in Michigan. Lagratta was recovering from foot surgery earlier in the week. At this time her family does not know the cause of her death. She will be greatly missed. For those of you who are relatively new among us, Lagratta was a part of St. Paul’s daily life for several years prior to her move to Michigan to be close to her mother. Lagratta was the Sr. Warden when I was called as Priest in Charge as well as the year I was called to stay on as Rector. Please pray for the repose of Lagratta’s soul, and pray for her mother Nettie, her sister Karen, and her brother Michael. Services have not been set yet, but will most likely take place this coming Saturday. Cards may be sent to Nettie Mitchell at 756 Louis Avenue, Muskegon, Michigan 49442. Nettie’s home phone is 231-722-7054. God’s peace, Jim Gracious and loving God, we thank you for creating us in your image and calling us to be your people. We give thanks for the lives we share with one another and for the mystery of our creation. We pray for all who die to this life, especially remembering this day Lagratta, and give thanks that your love welcomes her and each of us into that realm we cannot see but, by faith, know to be a wondrous part of eternal life. We pray for all who mourn, especially Lagratta’s mother Nettie, her sister Karen, and her brother Michael, and ask that you uphold their journey with grace and peace. All this we ask in the name of the Risen Christ. Amen.
