Dear Friends and Colleagues, As we reach for what most of us is an exciting time of transition from one year to another, on behalf of the entire Vasco da Gama Movement, I wish to extend best wishes to each and every one of you. I also want to send a sincere personal message to those friends and colleagues for whom this time of year brings sad thoughts; we are with you in spirit and solidarity, here to listen or just to be silent supporters with you in a time of need. But you are not alone, and please don’t ever forget it! The beginning of each New Year brings hope, and a chance to look forward with aspirations and dreams. But it also provides an opportunity to reflect on the year gone by. And as I reflect on 2014, I find myself in the privileged position of being surrounded by inspirational colleagues, a family of motivated, determined, enthusiastic, hard-working and awe-inspiring new and future family doctors. And so to my friends, colleagues and family, I wish each and every one of you a fantastic 2015. To our friends in WONCA World, WONCA Europe, the WONCA Europe Networks and SIGs (EURACT, EQuiP, EGRPN, EUORPREV, EURIPA and others) and especially to our worldwide brothers (The Rajakumar Movement, the Spice Route, Movimento Waynakay, AfriWon Renaissance, Al Razi, Polaris) we wish you every success and best wishes for 2015. But most of all, I wish all of you in VdGM – ordinary members, NECs and RECs, those in SIGs, the Council and on the Executive – my personal gratitude and thanks for all your wonderful contributions in 2014. Long may they continue! Best wishes to each and every one of you for 2015 and I hope to see many of you in Dublin in February. Peter.
