We at the 65th Infantry Regiment Honor Task Force Inc. are proud to have been the organization which submitted for consideration for the Congressional Medal of Honor MSG Juan E. Negron. Today we are proud to announce our recommendation for Congressional Medal of Honor – is posthumously awarded to MSG Juan E. Negron, 65th Infantry Regiment of Puerto Rico. A reception to be held at the Comfort Inn, Nanuet, Friday, 21 March 2014 at 6:30pm and Saturday March 22, 2014 from 3-5PM EL BARRIO STICK BALL MUSUEM - Borinqueneers Exhibit 230 East 123rd Street (Btw 2nd & 3rd Ave.) NYC. NYS Senator William Larkin and many others will be present. The buzz around the Veteran Community in anticipation to come out and pay respect to the valorous action for which it was awarded after being overlooked for the award since 1951 in the Korean War. MSG Negron was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his gallantry in 1951, but the 65th Honor Task Force asked the Secretary of the Army in 2001 to have it looked at again, along with two other 65th Infantry veterans.
