Dear Friends and Supporters, Once again it’s time for Fiji - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends and Supporters, Once again it’s time for Fiji Council of Social Services [FCOSS] annual membership drive. Your membership and support really mean a lot to us and give us a real boost for the important work we do on behalf of all grassroots people and CSO in Fiji. This year in February 2014, Fiji Council of Social Services developed a short term plan to strengthen organisation governance, policies and procedures. FCOSS Programs such as Social Leadership Training Institute, HelpAge Centre, National Volunteer Centre and Microfinance continued to deliver quality programs to NGOs, youth, women and elderly. Age Demands Action campaign continued to champion elderly voice on World Health Day and World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. FCOSS launched its Human Resource Policy last week at Pacific Island Association of Non-Governmental Organisation’s [PIANGO] regional round table meeting and the Finance Policy is currently being also reviewed. Strengthening relationship with our members, partners and stakeholder remains key focus for the 3rd quarter of the year, not forgetting strengthening of our District Council of Social Services [DCOSS] members particularly community based organisations and volunteers. Vodafone mYouth Program through our National Volunteer Centre has paved pathway for innovative youth solution and will celebrate National Youth Day 2014 soon. FCOSS Microfinance continues to be recognised one of the best Microfinance service provider in Fiji. In the coming months, our biennial flagship program - National Conference on Social Development [NCSD] and Annual General Meeting [AGM] is tentatively scheduled for August where financial members will actively participate. FCOSS is committed to launch Senior Citizens Associations [SCA] in 8 districts around Fiji before 1st October International Older Persons Day. We are privileged to be part of Beyond 2015 campaign in partnership with PIANGO, which will allow us voice for issues as the world is heading towards post 2015 goals. FCOSS Strategic Planning meeting planned for 3rd quarter of the year will give opportunity to rethink development and the future we want for Fiji as the world is thinking about beyond 2015. FCOSS website is also under construction which hopefully will be hub for disseminating information by end of next month. Thus our membership campaign help us work will help us raise funds to accomplish the above and will give you or your organisation to actively engage in our new journey and exciting times ahead. Please feel free to circulate to wider FCOSS network and members. You are welcome to liaise with Neil Maharaj or Ashika Rattan Thanks again for your continuous support to the FCOSS
