Dear Friends and Supporters, The overwhelming outreach we have - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends and Supporters, The overwhelming outreach we have received for the Assyrian adoption and sponsorship project in Iraq has deeply touched us all. Without hesitation, volunteers from Canada and the United States poured in their support and asked to become perspective parents. Thank you for your support and we wanted to assure everyone that we are working to gather the necessary information so we can operate within the scope of international and domestic laws to facilitate adoptions and sponsorships. Currently, we have discovered that there are approximately eighty children that have been orphaned and are living among the other victims in the affected regions. Our volunteers in Iraq are working to locate them assess their needs. We are also contacting government organizations in Iraq and the U.S. to learn more about the inter-country adoption process. Please check back for updates posted to the group. We will post their profiles online as well as ways in which you can help. Some may need to be adopted but many will only need to be sponsored so they can receive the basic necessities to help them survive the harsh desert conditions. There are changes being made to our organization to accommodate for the adoptions. In the near future, we will reorganize the Assyrian Medical Society to offer medical relief and adoptions. We have recently appointed Mr. Michael David as our director to reorganize and rebrand the organization. Michael served as secretary of the AMS from 2010 to 2012. We welcome him back and wish him the best of luck in his new position. Albert Davidoo and Youkie Khannia
