Dear Friends of AEA, the 2013 annual conference will take off tomorrow at YSU Econ Faculty with a welcome at 9:00 by PM Sargsyan. Daron Acemoglu (MIT) will hold the first keynote speech at 9:30 (video conferencing), which is followed by parallel sessions in English and Armenian. On Sunday we start at 10:00 in AUA with three parallel session. At noon Mark Davis (EBRD) will have a luncheon keynote speech on local capital markets. In the afternoon we continue the scientific sessions with a closing and best paper awards ceremony at 6pm. Overall we have around 45 paper-presentations by scholars traveling from the US, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Georgia as well as high quality contributions from Armenia. A wide range of topics is covered including mico, macro, trade, finance, public econ, political econ, experimental, development, labor markets etc. Some of these papers are of exceptional scientific quality and are being presented and published in internationally recognized conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
