Dear Friends of TEXAS and of the souls lost last night, I received a sympathetic plea from my nursing friends at Northwest Texas Hospital. Being a theatre person myself, I understand what a close family we all are in this community of artists. We know each other. We care about each other. I understand the need for more information than we are currently given regarding the tragic events of last night. That being said, I would ask that everyone, who is not a direct family member, please let the fine individuals working at the NWTH ICU and Trauma Center do their work. Let us all show some compassion and restraint until, as Kris Miller indicated in his press release, more detailed information can be OFFICIALLY released to the public. The staff of NWTH has been inundated with calls and people showing up to the ER asking about the victims and/or offering help. While the concerns are appreciated by the staff, an inordinate amount of time is being spent on the public instead of the victims and their families. I am sure, in this time of sorrow, we can all appreciate the need for self-control and patience. In time, we will all learn the details. In time, we will all be afforded our moment to grieve for our extended family.
