Dear Future Kristi from Christmas 2015, Just a few notes to yourself to prevent future slip ups. 1. When you order off amazon and you receive something from the US Postal service in a box from a 3rd party address you dont recognize and it just happens to be a week or so before Christmas.... DO NOT OPEN this box in front of your children because yes, you did order gifts online, and yes these gifts were meant to be from Santa. Fail #1 2. Do not go thinking that just because you bought your wrapping paper well before Thanksgiving, you may just be on the ball this year. Its just not the case... your children will find that said wrapping paper and when you try to explain to them that Santa wraps the presents here and that you supply the paper because its OH SO PRETTY and perfectly Vinnie blue... you will be shot down and your 6 and 4 year old will explain thats not the case, the elves wrap it before Santa even gets here because there wouldnt be enough time for him to wrap all those gifts at everyones house. Ok... So when that is all said and done and you decide to take the wrapping paper back and exchange it - please make sure you check how many feet the very over priced wrapping paper is because 10 isnt enough... Fail #2 3. You receive boxes from It Works all the time. For the LOVE of GOD, save a few of them to put gifts in genius!! 4. You will run out of tape, but its ok because you have to go back out into that zoo of people to get more matching wrapping paper because you ran out of that too! 5. Oh and the amazon boxes that you do save.... take the shipping label off of it before you wrap it in the limited supply of wrapping paper you have... your Kindergartener can read... 6. Feel free to order your cards in July of next year, but please do not be disappointed when you are still sending some out on Christmas Eve. Its happened before, its happening now, and I guarantee you it will happen next year. Oh and try not to make them too heavy this year either. 1.2 ounces costs a lot more to mail out than 1. Be very graceful with yourself and keep reminding yourself that its the thought that counts. 7. Last but not least, you WILL forget something, things wont fit in the boxes you have or dont have, you wont be on time to really anything at all even though you try with all your might, youll probably spend too much money on things you dont need, that might just get returned the day after, but above all, remember that Jesus is the reason for the season and everything previously mentioned is just minor
