Dear GDRADIO.NET Community, Our pockets are nearly empty, and we need your help. Spring begins and Summer is just around the corner! GDRADIO.NET is about to celebrate its 10th birthday soon!!! Time has passed more quickly than I could have imagined, and these ten years have heralded unprecedented growth since the sites inception. While we now sustain thousands and thousands of active listeners, weve also been driven by a wonderful, dedicated community without whom our corner of the internet would be that much less meaningful. Our growth has come with costs. In this case, the costs are literal. Just shy of a year since my last donation announcement, I now regret to inform you that the enormity of our undertaking has produced an overwhelming financial burden. In order to operate legally, we pay fees to ASCAP. BMI, Sound Exchange and SESAC. These fees ensure that the artists, songwriters, publishers and anyone else who might happen to have their hands out get paid. In doing so, GDRADIOs monthly bills are massive, and this excludes the additional costs of a new server, hardware upgrades and snags in the road (thanks, Hurricane Irene!). It was once possible to tap into reserve funds during donation droughts, but this was before costs ballooned with an exploding population and increased bandwidth demands. Our reserves are rapidly running dry, and now we appeal to you - our community. So -now I turn to you, the faithful listener for support. Consider what gdradio.net is worth to you. If you can place an affordable value on it, why not help out today? You might notice that unlike other radio stations (yes even online radio stations), every 4th song isnt followed by a commercial for Viagra or how to turn your unwanted gold into cash or ... well you get the idea.
