Dear Gareeb, Last week I wrote to tell you about a new network - TopicsExpress

Dear Gareeb, Last week I wrote to tell you about a new network we are launching on March 11 to help people and organisations connect and take action, online and in person. The response to that email was wonderful, and more than 7,000 people in 130 countries have signed up so far. If you have a moment, please visit idealist.org/March11 and scroll down the page to see how people around the world are responding. I also wanted to take a moment to address the two most frequent questions we received: 1. How does one participate? Simply by signing up on that page and then coming back at the hour that works best for you (we will do this twice, at 17:00 GMT on March 11 and at 04:00 GMT on March 12). No special technology is required, just the ability to watch a video online or on your phone (like watching a YouTube video or a TED talk). 2. How is this different from Idealist? Is this a Facebook for NGOs? No... We will use the web, of course, and Idealist will still be there, but what we really want to do, as outlined at idealist.org/invitation is build a global movement of people who want to work together on three big goals: - Help people everywhere move from intention to action (many people want to do more, but dont know how to start or who to work with) - Connect people, organizations, and resources in every possible way - Find good ideas wherever they are, and share them as widely as possible This is what the presentation on March 11 will be about. If these challenges appeal to you, I hope you can join us. And if you know other people who should be there, please invite them too. Thanks again! Ami Dar Executive Director idealist.org/March11
