Dear God, You said to,Honor thy Mother, and thy Father. Tonight I - TopicsExpress

Dear God, You said to,Honor thy Mother, and thy Father. Tonight I dedicate my prayer to all the parents of the past, present, and the future. We wouldnt be who we are or where we are if wasnt for our parents constant care, and teaching of us or our Loved Ones. The sacrifices that they have made to live a subsistence lifestyle before there was such a thing as food stamps, welfare or diplomas. Most of our parents had limited education, and yet from time immemorial they knew how to survive off of the land to provide for their families on a limited income or no income at all. All the hours of getting wood to keep the houses warm, the tireless job of catching fish, and other birds, and animals, and preparing, and preserving them to keep us nourished so that we may be here today. All the times that they brought us to the church to partake in Holy Communion, not only during the holidays, but throughout the year as well. They taught us that underneath the color of our skin, that our blood is the same color. They instilled in us to love for our brothers, and sisters in Christ, regardless of who they are or where they come from because we only have one God. Regardless of what our religion is. They taught us to be strong, independent, and self sufficient. In the coming days as our parents age or sadly in some cases, if they have already gone to a place where there is no more suffering, and no more sorrow, may we cherish them, and return the love, and commitment that they so freely shared with us. Lord, bless our parents for everything that they have done, and continue to do. Bless their health. Comfort them, and keep them safe from accidents or illnesses. Let them live in peace, and happiness in all the days of their lives as they so rightfully deserve. May we teach our children the skills that were passed down from generation to generation. May the hearts of our parents overflow with a sense of accomplishment as we teach our children what they taught us. Lord have mercy on our parents, and for those that arent here with us, may their memory be eternal, and their souls dwell with the Blessed. God please watch over our parents tonight, and every night. God grant them many years! In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
