Dear Good Cause, I have discovered a problem needing immediate attention. We have placed bandaids and duck tape on it where we need surgery and complete renovation. We have looked over this investment for easier, less risky investments. The problem is many of us so often turn a blind eye to the way young people all around us grow up in our communities. Because of that problem, which I take complete responsibility of my part in it, it causes other problems with our youth. The problems resulting in our youth do not discriminate. It does not matter how much income your family takes home. It does not matter what side of the tracks you raise your children on. It does no matter what school he or she attends. It does not matter your parenting skills. The absence of positive people and the lack of a plan leads to no purpose in our young people. This is why todays youth have increasing issues with teen pregnancy, drug abuse, rebellious attitudes, no direction, no goals, an entitlement posture toward life, poor performance in the classroom and that’s just the beginning. The solution is IGNITE. IGNITE is a new mentoring program housed in a new vocational based community center Good Cause is bringing to our community. Our mission is simple. Ignite the untapped potential in young people through endless opportunities.
