**Dear Governor Martinez - US Horse Slaughter in Mexico is still occurring. You have an opportunity to stop transport of horses through New Mexico to the Mexican Border for slaughter. You have the opportunity to Ban Horse slaughter in New Mexico for all time. You have an opportunity to end the brutal practice of KILL BUYER DUMPING across NM of horses rejected for slaughter by Mexico. Governor Martinez, Please give a message/call for the NM HORSE BILLS HB119, 121, 120 so that they can be heard and move swiftly through committee. This is a short session as you know. These bills are currently not moving in the House Rules Committee. They will: 1. Close our border to Mexico for horse slaughter. 2. They will BAN horse slaughter in New Mexico 2. End the brutal and dangerous practice of kill buyer dumping across New Mexico and on tribal lands, pushing them toward slaughter. 3. They will end the grave threat to New Mexicos Livestock industry from diseases brought here from across the nation. 4. They will end the only real unwanted horse problem we have in New Mexico, KILL BUYER DUMPING. 5. They will take away the exemption of horses from the NM Animal Cruelty Act except for rodeo and racing.
