Dear Hamlin Residents, It has been my pleasure serving the Town of Hamlin as the Recreation Director for over six years. As of April 1st I will be moving on to a new position with a different company. I have had the joy of working with all ages from the very young 3 year olds kicking soccer balls in the Tiny Tot soccer program to the Senior Citizens dancing in the Silver Sneakers programs. I have loved every moment of it. I am a resident of this town and have been for over 20 years and I would love to see this community and the Recreation Department continue to grow. It is my intention on staying involved as a staff person to assist with the transition of the new Director and with the many programs offered through the Recreation Department including the “School of Screams”. There are so many wonderful people that volunteer with our department and as I have said before, our department could not run without them. This is why I will be helping to assist the “Friends of Parks and Recreation” project get off the ground. This worthwhile endeavor will have a 501(c)(3) status that will allow the Friends group the opportunity to apply for the countless number of grants out there. Anyone interested in getting involved in this please call the office Your patience though this transition is appreciated. The Recreation Department is filled with great qualified staff who have your best interest in mind when offering quality recreational and educational programs at an affordable cost.
