Dear Harris County High School parents, If your kid was one of the several (17) fights today, it is likely your kid got arrested. Do not complain about it. Do not blame anyone else for this. It is not race, economic status, or unfair treatment that caused these teens to go on a rampage. It is fight week at Harris County High, a spirit week some students decided to create to make themselves relevant. Now, their relevance will be determined solely by how long their rap sheet will become. If you birthed one of these future occupiers of prison space, get off your damned phone, get everyone off the Xbox, stop trying to be a friend or afraid your kid wont like you. BE A PARENT. If you cant teach your kids right from wrong- if YOU dont know right from wrong- find someone that does or leave your kid in jail or keep him/her at home. It is bad enough that good kids like mine have to have the education they value interrupted, their safety threatened, but it is those good kids who will also have to pay for the 3 hots and a cot your childs lifetime of incarceration will demand. In closing, if you even think your kid is capable of violence and you still let him/her attend Harris County High tomorrow, where I am told kids were threatening even more intense fights for their celebration week, and your kid touches a hair on my kid, ALL HELL will come down upon you and your kid like you have never experienced before. See, as a good parent, one of the most important principles to teach kids is always follow through with any threats...and ask my son, I always follow through.
