Dear Harris Teeter, I have worked for you for almost 8 years. - TopicsExpress

Dear Harris Teeter, I have worked for you for almost 8 years. You were my first job when I was in high school and I continued through college and even after. But Ive finally put in my notice and, in a week, well part ways. I just want to reiterate a couple things Ive felt pretty passionately about over the last few years. Thanks for the commemoration when I hit five years with the company. I mean, you couldve sent a little plaque or even a card, but I guess you were too busy. Thanks for promoting such awesome managers. In all my 8 years, Ive only met 4 out of over a dozen managers and co managers who I can actually say LED the store and would work to better every department. Instead, you hired men who treated their female employees with disdain and even one who yelled in my face when I was 17 years old. So, thanks. I also appreciate a good boss and not a leader. Thanks for consistently understaffing every department in every store Ive ever worked in, save one. I guess since you dont deal with the screaming customers who are angry because of wait times, out of stock items, etc. its not on your radar. And above all, thanks for hiring a store manager who would lie to me about a position in order to get me to revamp an entire department, working for weeks on end, with the promise of a managerial position. I appreciate that you would hire someone who would then give that management spot to an unqualified outside hire because shes related to another store manager. I know we all like preferential treatment. Over the last 8 years, Ive learned a lot about my work ethic. I rarely ever called out, only when very ill, and would to above and beyond EVERY DAY because I valued my work ethic over how I was treated day in and day out. However, what you taught me was that amounted to nothing because no matter how hard I tried, I was almost never met with a good job! Or even a thanks. Although my employment future is uncertain, I hope to join a team somewhere who values hard work, team efforts, dedication, and friendliness over ruthlessness and desperation in order to climb the corporate ladder. Formerly yours, Sara Brooks Cashier, Customer Service Clerk, USCAN cashier, Starbucks Barista, Starbucks LSM, and Fresh Foods Clerk; Stores 006, 313, 320, and 329.
