Dear His Church Family and Friends, Good morning, Ya Ya said my devo from yesterday was way to long. Ya Ya usually know some stuff. Ill listen to her you listen to Jesus: Matthew 13:33 (NLT) 33Jesus also used this illustration: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.” Me and two of my partners were the first boys to take home ec at Negreet High School. I was a senior, Ya Ya was a freshmen; I was trying to get her attention. Little did I know that while I was transferring to 9th grade Home Ec, she was transferring to 9th grade typing. The prettiest girl left was my sister; at least Home Ec was fun; me and my two buddies were teachers pets. My cooking project was a pound cake. I read the lower case t in the recipe (stands for teaspoon) and interpreted it tablespoon, 3 times the amount. The ingredient? Baking powder; like yeast it was a rising agent. My cake got bigger and bigger and overflowed its cooking pan; finally it just imploded as it gave up the ghost. The lesson? A little yeast goes a long way. It influences everything it touches. Thats what we are supposed to do. We are to be influencing agents. We are supposed to make a difference. Our lives should influence the people we encounter. May you be yeast that influences in a positive way your loved ones. May you be a positive influence at work and school and church and wherever you go. Have a great weekend. Let me invite you to church if you are not in the habit of going somewhere. I will be preaching on Dont rain on my Parade, my take on the triumphant entry of Jesus on Palm Sunday. It might be good. Hope to see you. 8, 9:30, or 11:00. Enjoy the weather and set your clock back one hour. b steve
