Dear His Church Family and Friends, Listen to this story from Jesus. Matthew 13:3 - 4 (NKJV) 3Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. This week, the focus will be the story of the farmer--parable of the sower. The farmer plants the seed--identified later as the Word of God. Jesus describes 4 types of soil that the seed falls on and describes the results. The first soil--the first kind of heart that reacts to Gods Word; the wayside soil--the hard soil at the edges of the garden. The seed does not penetrate the ground; the Word does not penetrate the heart. The birds come and steal the seed that was intended for the soil. Jesus identifies the birds in this story as the Enemy (Satan.) Dont you know Satan hates the Word of God? When we have a stubborn response to the Word of God; Satan is quick to pick it up from our hearts before it can make its way into our hearts. How many times do we hear the Word, read the Word; and fail to listen, fail to allow Gods Word to penetrate our lives? Taken, stolen, removed from our lives before it even has a chance to grow. The Enemy is a liar, he is a murderer, but he is also a thief. Guard your hearts. Dont let the enemy steal Gods Word from you. Let Gods Word penetrate your heart. Then we can say with the song writer; I have hidden your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
