Dear IFMSA members, I hope you are in Good health and Prosperity.... This is a Call for The First of its Kind Contest in Palestine and The IFMSA SCOME Projects , its a Huge Turn of events , Beautiful and interesting Project that sets Place in Alquds-University and its under the Legislation of IFMSA-Palestine . What is this new Project , Cooking !! ? its a Contest for the Whole University students who have a Talent in cooking Delicious and Tasty Food, Meals or Deserts, Numerous contestants will Set and be organised for a Committee of Food Judges and Chefs or Respected Timeline. The Winner will be Named The Best Chef of 2014 and it is covered by News Agencies Like Raya FM, Palestine TV, and the University team of Reporters and Photographers . What does it have to do with SCOME ? The Best Way to Teach someone about something is By giving an Example. Here after the whole Crowd have finished tasting the good food, we will be waiting for them with the Blood sugar pinpoint detecting Devices, and we will Ask a number of People to participate in this Little Scheme, Their blood sugar will by high up to the Roof, and after the Lecture that we will Prepare for, 1 hour or so, another testing for the Participants who accepted to Participate, and 2 at 2 hours. Diabetic Patients will have difficult time going to normal, more difficult than the Healthy Participants, and this will be a Proof of how Food affects our bodies and Minds and way of Life. As Diabetes type 2 is a Preventable disease we will Teach the Audience how to fight it and avoid all the Risk Factors Leading to it. What Can you Do if you were Accepted in the OC of this Huge Event ? 1 . Order Committee, keep people organised, while they come in and out, and prevent any Fights as there is a Great number of people at the Event. 2. Food committee, they organize the Contestants Dishes and Help them prepare it if it needed Reheating using microwaves that we will Bring, after the Judges finish Choosing Contestants, you have to help people to Take a bite from the Dish you handle and at the End the Leftovers will be donated to Students and to Orphanage in Abu-Dis. 3. The Lecture Committee, Prepare for a 2 hour Lecture with different ways of Information Presentation, ask the Dean or a doctor to give the Lecture or you can make it, you have the Choice I trust you, and Get Diabetes Mellitus type 2 brochures to Spread it on the Audiences. 4. Design and Publication and Welcoming Committee, Welcome the Guests and Help them in an organised way .. Design Wall Pictures to Print and Present our contest and Lecture. Natour (6th Year medical student at Al-Quds University and an active member of IFMSA-Palestine) and under the supervision of SCOME official Qusai Ghaleb.
