Dear Jennifer Martin Spencer, I completely agree with your sentiment. As a french bulldog owner for over 15 years, and an active member of FBRN for 12 years (shortly after its founding), I have seen terrible things happen as our beloved breed gains popularity. As a true French Bulldog Enthusiast, I feel that anyone who loves this breed should stand up against the horrible things that are happening to these dogs: importing, line breeding, sales in pet shops, fad colors, puppy milling, online sales, craigslist posts, auctions, etc. Fad colors are going to destroy our already health-wise fragile breed. I encourage all French Bulldog Enthusiasts to help improve the health and longevity of each and every frenchie bred by only buying from ethical breeders who adhere to the rules of the FBDCA, or to rescue a frenchie who became a victim of the breeds exponentially growing popularity due to greed and making a quick buck by duping uneducated buyers. Lets make our breed the best it can be by saving the sick, and promoting good breeding practices. Thank you.
