Dear Korean Debate Community, We are now recruiting judges for the 2014 HUFS-YTN English Debating Championships. Please feel free to forward this notice to anyone who might be interested. First, the highlights: Dates - High school tournament: July 23-24 (two days) - Middle school tournament: August 5-August 7 (three days) Compensation Judges will receive 140,000 won for each full day if they have a HUFS judge certificate and 110,000 won per day if they do not have a HUFS judge certificate (more on that below). This means you could make up to 700,000 won for coming to all five days of the championships. Venue Both tournaments are at the Seoul HUFS campus and run all day (we will send out a more detailed schedule to all confirmed judges). *** Interested? It is a certificate given by HUFS after the completion of a day-long judging course which confirms you are a qualified judge. It entitles you to higher payment and the possibility of judging better rounds. A course will be offered on Saturday, July 12th. The course begins in the morning with lectures by our Adj Core and concludes with a judge test in the afternoon. Only those who pass the test will be given a certificate. More details on the course will be sent out to registered judges. However, keep in mind that if you have broken as a judge at an international tournament, this counts as a certificate for the purpose of compensation. 2) What if I can only come on some of the days? We will give preference to judges who can come for more days of the tournament, but please fill out the form even if you can only attend part of it. 3) What if I have additional questions?
