Dear Life, Here is my latest update from freezing cold Portland Oregon.... My trip to Ecuador was driven by my desire to engage in conservation efforts in the amazonian rainforest, which gave rise to me memeing #savethe..... rainforest, frogs, orchids, ferns, etc. though quite honestly my conservation efforts were really to save myself #savemywildself ...to let die the aspects of the culturalized self I have been longing to break free from....the culture of oppression that seems ingrained in many facets of industrial modernization. The learning laboratory of Ecuador indeed proved to be fertile ground for self-exploration as well as abounding with cultural and environmental lessons to learn. The learning curve was steep not unlike the altitudes I biked up and rolled down. And as I learned more about who I am and could be, the seeds of inspiration soaked up the jungle sun and rain began sprouting....The goals I arrived in Ecuador with, the seeds of a sustainable life, well...some have taken root, some need more time and care, and some I have decided to let rot, to compost, to renew through transformation. While in Ecuador, in the heart of Nature, with the support of good friends, I encountered new seeds of inspiration that perhaps may spout, take root and flourish....one being the acquisition of land to conserve primary and secondary rainforest. The land would be the matrix for growing native and endemic flowers of the amazon with which to make flower essences. In a previous posting on FB I mentioned the idea of making amazonian flower essences with the name Rainforest Remedies, not realizing it is already in use with traditional healing practices. So a renaming effort will be part of this project that is in its infancy....a healing project gestated by years of learning about and practicing with flower essences. I hope to grow this project up, cultivating with compassion, bringing this dream to waking life. Learning of Jens passing affirms my resolve to evolve my relationship with plants. I believe it is a way I can honor the life work of Jen as well as honoring myself and the natural world. I look forward to sharing in this dream of collective well-being on the individual and planetary scales. Cosmically ours....with love, Molly
