Dear Lindy Focus, Thank you for being on the forefront of Lindy Hop event safety with 2014s Code of Conduct and Safe Spaces policy. I think Ive only heard of one other larger-than-local Lindy Hop event thats implemented something like that at this point, but Im certain well see a slew of them follow your lead. For the first year attempting to institute a mindset of respectfulness like this, a lot of organizations mightve just gone with a single sentence or a hard-to-find list of bullet points. Instead, I saw full web pages, clear info, a staffed desk, and the people involved were on top of concerns (not that very much happened). I know I felt better knowing that if anyone was disrespected, made uncomfortable, or worse, that there was a course of action where the organizers would take it seriously. Thats more important than I can say! Everyone knows Lindy Focus is a leader in dance event awesomeness. This year showed youre also a leader in caring about the dancers who attend. Thanks again.
