Dear Lord, I dont ask for much... well, scratch that. I actually DO ask for a lot, but since I do, this next part wont really come as much of a surprise. Please let Lansing United win that game tonight. With all the sadness and tragedy in the world, couldnt we use more of the rapturous joy we saw at Finley Stadium last night? I mean, why would You, in Your infinite wisdom, allow an afterthought of a team like the New York Red Bulls Under 23 Development Squad and their double-digit fanbase, to host a national league final? It seems such a turn would be especially cruel considering 10,000-strong stand ready and waiting in Chattanooga to celebrate this great occasion. Please bless the Lansing United players. Make their feet swift and their aim true. Raise them up on wings of eagles (albeit better wings than the Quad City Eagles), and let them not be weak, weary, or faint. Carry them to victory today, and let Your glory reign, and Your blessings rain... on more than just a few dozen fans who are only at the game because their sons or boyfriends happen play on the team.
