Dear Madam/Sir, OneWorld Foundation India, a leading community media & ICT4D organisation is partnering with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, in organising a series of state level consultations for promoting the Community Radio as a medium for communication among civil society organisations and educational institutions. The three-day interactive workshop is designed to demystify and create awareness about the Community Radio movement, and to motivate and prepare the participants to apply for licenses. The workshop will discuss in detail about the principles, licensing process, management, financial, technology and capacity building aspects of Community Radio. The interactive sessions and group exercises facilitated by senior officials from the ministry, international development agencies, operating CR stations and other senior experts from the domain will ensure that the participants go back with a realistic blue-print for setting up and operating a Community Radio station. The three-day workshop for the state Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh is being organised on 23th, 24th and 25th March 2014 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.This state level workshop is for the interested and eligible participants from civil society organisations, educational institutions and KVKs from the state of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Organisations from the bordering districts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab are also encouraged to attend this workshop. The three day workshop will be residential. Accommodation for 3 nights for the confirmed participants will be provided on twin sharing basis.Travel allowance – Fare equivalent to AC II tier or actuals (whichever is lower) – will be reimbursed on submission of original tickets and receipts as per the Ministry’s guidelines.
