Dear Makro I am a very disappointed and angry customer. Funny how your e mail address states Makro care....yet what really happens is far from this. Makro does not care about the customers in their stores. Only cares about the money that they can make from customers. I was shopping at your Wonderboom outlet in Pretoria on Saturday the 15th of November 2014. We were in the isle where the Teas are located few feet from the bulk trading counters. Dont know the isle number. My husband was operating the front trolley where my daughter was in and I was handling the second trolley. I had hooked my daughters pink billabong backpack on the hook at the back of my trolley where you normally hang the dogfood or toiletpaper. Inside the bag was my purse, my Daughters 7inch Assus tablet and my Samsung note 2 phone. Along with a drimac jacket that belonged to my daughter. My husband had to watch both trolleys while I turned to get some snowflake box cake boxes. My husband was standing between the two trolleys. I had my back turned and could not see the trolleys. I knew my husband would keep an eye out. While searching for the cake boxes my husband spoke up and and called my name in alarm. The back pack was opened and both the Assus Tablet and my cellphone was taken out of the bag. I was so shocked that this had happened and was furious. My husband did notice two ladies that was busy at the tea section close to the bag and suspect it is them that stole my possessions. Thinking it was ok that the store had security cameras I immediately ran towards two managers that was standing around at the bulk trading section. I reported it and they said its ok that they would look at the security camera footage. They phoned the security section and asked them to watch the surveillance video. I was so happy knowing that the thieves would be caught and that I could the get my possessions back. Managers received call and told us that unfortunately there was not a camera stationed at that specific area. I am deeply disappointed and furious. How can this be possible. This is in fact the second time that something like this has happened to us at the same store. Around February my previous cellphone was stollen at the pot isle. Also had this reported immediately to one of the store managers and again security surveillance was looked at and again there was no cameras in this part of the store. How is this possible!!!!!!! How can this continue on at this particular store? Thieves know this and target this store because they know your security is pathetic. They know they can get away with theft...... I am deeply disappointed and a very angry customer. Yes, I have insurance on my phone, although it is going to cost me a access fee of R750. Another worrying fact is that my phone the Samsung Note 2 is discontinued and so is the Note 3 which means that I will have to pay in a considerable amount along with the access fee. The thing that upsets me the most is that my daughters tablet is not covered and I cant afford to replace it. My daughter is heartbroken...traumatized and wants to know why people steal...... Why did thieves do this mommy? What do I tell her? I dont understand how these things happen. Not even our contact details was asked or an event written by one of these managers. It was just left....clearly your store or the staff does not care....I have had it.
