Dear Manager of Infiniti Fermentation & Distillation, I came in - TopicsExpress

Dear Manager of Infiniti Fermentation & Distillation, I came in with my wife for a date sans kids. Its the first date weve had alone in over a year. After being brought out to the deck to be seated we sat there for 15 minutes before we were greeted by our server who took our drink order and food order. It took another 20 minutes for our drinks to come (water came out with them) and a grand total of 1 hour to get our 2 burgers ( Rodeo and Infiniti ). Now, I understand the pressures in a kitchen and what can go wrong...I did 15 years in the food industry - both front and back of the house...but when service reaches a place of negligence and the food comes out like it rolled from a miniaturizer with a boring bouquet of almost non existent onion rings and neutral nothingness BBQ sauce - I have to stop and say something. We both ordered burgers medium. Mine came out medium rare and hers was medium well. The fries were crisp and enjoyable, even more-so without the gourmet aioli that every restaurant thinks it can whip together without love or attention to flavors....BORING - try to tickle my palate please. I ate the burger. It was less interesting than Elevation and in my Portland Burgers measure BGood Burger kicks your burgers asses around the block all day long - go eat one...learn something from them. After you understand what quality burgers can be (Portland does have MANY amazing burgers that are locally sourced) start with charging a normal burger price. $15 is a RIP OFF IN EVERY WAY. My hard earned cash is not yours to steal. Give me what I pay for. Your burgers are the size of sliders. I would gladly pay you $8 for what I received tonight because your ambiance is quite nice. The beer that I attempted to wash down the burger with was a brew recommended to me by my server - as I know taste is subjective, it is hard to say anything poor against her suggestion other than, if you dont drink IPAs and someone asks you for a suggestion between the three Pale Ales....go get someone who does like them to make the suggestion or just say honestly....I dont drink IPAs but the popular choice is...... After I got the beer I stated that it tasted good yet was incredibly carbonated once it hit my mouth causing my mouth to instantly bloat with carbonation - no big deal...its beer....I will drink more and frankly I dont expect to love every one I drink - just dont try to suggest something youve never tried or dont know about extensively (as a server you should try everything and be educated as to the contents). The final blow came with me feeling uneasy about the dining experience and attempting to be open about it. A hungry tummy unsatisfied by my demure meal and only filled with the gas from an obnoxiously tasty beer made me want to converse honestly to the manager (with only constructive words going through my head). I stopped by the host station to speak to the manager about the experience. The host was kind, understanding and quickly set off to get the manager. He returned saying she would be right out. I waited another 8 minutes. NO MANAGER. You have now wasted MORE TIME of my already lengthy food date (it was nice to spend my time talking with my wife and having something hot and awesome to talk about as we watched other patrons be neglected as well). YOU....THE MANAGER - dont EVER neglect a customer that just spent $50 of their hard earned cash at your establishment. RESPECT. Sincerely, Dylan Verner
