Dear Marcus: I went to the farmers market today and missed you terribly. I remember us going during the summer and how excited you were. You learned the different vegetables and loved the berry man who sold a flat of blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. One of your favorites. The mushroom man has come and he is a permanent part of the market. I said hello to the hummus man and to the peanut vendor. I bought yams and onions and Japanese apple pears. I bought strawberries and huge beautiful pears. The man with all the different kinds of eggs was there, duck, turkey, quail and chicken eggs. Our favorite man had heirloom tomato plants. I was only going to buy one but he had your favorite yellow tomato plants so I bought two. I remember how you didnt like tomatoes until we started growing them. You never could pass up the sweet yellow tomatoes. For some reason the honey man wasnt there. He has always been next to the family that sells avocados and citrus, but he wasnt there today. Do you suppose the bees are on vacation? No honey sticks for today. I love you more than life. Happy Birthday little man. Nana
