Were ready for you now but um, we dont have any foldbacks and we cant turn the front of house speakers on yet because theyre filming something so can you just play and well hear you in the sound room. Wheres the sound room? Downstairs. Umm... So you want us to sound-check even though we cant hear ourselves? Yes please. And how are we going to communicate with each other? Great thanks! Next day (1 day before gig) Hi Nate, can you guys come in 6 hours early for sound-check instead? Really? Im sorry but no, we cant. Well be there 3 hours early though. Oh, well if thats the case then we have to pull the gig. Excuse me? Weve accumulated 8 hours of meeting and travelling time helping you guys out, lugged instruments up stairs, set-up, and packed down our instruments, spent a considerable amount of time in communication to work out your preferred set-list etc., turned down a PAYING gig as we had already committed to you AND have offered to do it for FREE when this would normally be the type of performance where we would ask around a GRAND and now ONE DAY OUT - YOU - tell us that youre pulling our gig because we cant bend any further for you? Were only so flexible. Weve performed with many big music names and none have treated us with the disrespect that you have. An e-mail, phone call or text of proper apology even? Nope. Feeling righteously indignant.
