Dear Members, The new season is nearly upon us with our return - TopicsExpress

Dear Members, The new season is nearly upon us with our return to Division 1. Preparations for the new season under the guidance of Jason & Tyson have gone well even though the practice games have been one sided affairs. From last years squad we have lost some of our rising stars to RGC and we wish them well for the new season, together with our former players who are still in the RGC squad. All the RGC players know where their roots are and we look forward to seeing them in the Club on a Saturday. We also welcome back some former players who left to test and improve their skills at a higher level, no doubt their experiences will benefit the squad. When we talk about the squad we mean both 1st & 2nd XV. We do not have two teams , those players selected to play each Saturday in the 2nd XV team are a vital asset to the success of the Club and games in the 2nd XV will be a valuable experience for former youth team players graduating to senior rugby. Thanks to Martin and all the lads who form the hardcore of the team for their support of the 1st XV, often at short notice. The Youth Team had a successful run in the Cup last year but will need to be more consistent and committed in the league going forward. George and Haydn would welcome any support in running the team. The Junior section are looking forward to the season under the guidance of Richie Brammer & his committee, team of coaches and parents. All age groups are on the look out for new players and willing parents. So, if you know someone with children encourage them to take up the best sport in the world! We will be without the use of the 2nd XV pitch until the end of the year.We are hoping to secure the use of John Brights so when we have games over there the MUGS ( Muliti Utility Groundstaff ) will need assistance - so if you can assist please dont be shy in coming forward! The plans for the kitchen extension have been put on hold until next spring. The refurbishment of the interior of the Club will continue through out the season with plans for a major overhaul of the bar - help with this project will be required. Lastly, at the end of last season the Council informed us that they were concerned with cars parking on match days on the training area. You will be aware that there is a gap in the barriers to allow access primarily for ground maintenance but more importantly for emergency vehicles ie ambulances. Members are requested NOT to park in this area. The only exceptions will be for vehicles with disability badges. Any member parking in the area will be confronted by a member of the Committee with a request to move ! So, the target is Division 1 Champions, North Wales Cup and an appearance at the Millenium in the final of the SWALEC Plate, and the youth team back in Division 1. Over to you Jason,Tyson, the other coaches and the players !!! Regards Dave Robertson Chairman
