Dear Members, We are starting a new segment by the name of Tu Nishan Azm e Alishan and in this segment we will discuss the most influential personalities of Pakistan as well as achievements of other individuals. Since 9th Nov is around the corner, therefore we will start with Muhammad Iqbal, also known as Allama Iqbal. As we all know he is a well-known philosopher, poet and politician who was born on 9 November 1877 in British India. He is considered one of the most important Muslim philosophical thinkers of modern era. Iqbal is also known as Shair-e-Mashriq meaning “Poet of the East”. Iqbal had attained maturity as a poet, thinker, seer and crusader who could read the signs of tomorrow in the happenings of today, make predictions, present hard facts and unravel abstruse truths through the medium of poetry and ignite the flame of faith, Selfhood and courage by his own intensity of feeling and force of expression He was the one who presented two-nation theory and conception of Pakistan and always remained the idea of “Muslim state” alive in his mind. It had naturally to mature and hence, had to take time. He was sure that the Muslims of sub-continent were going to achieve an independent homeland for themselves. The last phase of Iqbal’s life was embittered with constant illness. But as regards his creative activities this product was most productive. He kept in touch with every question of the day and continued composing beautiful verses. A few minutes before his death he recited these touching lines: The departed melody may return or not! The zephyr from Hijaz may blow again or not! The days of this Faqir has come to an end. Another seer may come or not! Aasmaan teri lahad per shabnam afshaani kare Sabza e noorasta is ghar ki nigeh baani kare. It is our pride that The Pakistan government officially named him a national poet and In India he is also remembered as the author of the popular song Saare Jahaan Se Achcha. May Allah rest his soul in peace and grant us Hidayah to follow Sirat-e-Mustaqeem.
