Dear Members and Friends of ABD, As we wrap up 2014, theres lots of excitement in the air! Were putting the finishing touches on our not-to-be-missed New Years Eve gala featuring The Vintage 15 big band at Dance Institute. If you havent already done so, youll want to make plans to ring in the New Year with ABD. Were also introducing exciting new changes to our class schedule for 2015! Please join us for Open House Week with ABD January 6, 8 and 9 at Hancock Recreation Center. New, returning and regular students are all invited to come meet our instructors and enjoy a night of free classes! A reception Meet and Greet will be held from 7 - 7:30 each evening, with classes starting at 7:30. Help us welcome Matt Stewart and Valerie Ryan as new instructors on Thursday and Friday evenings. They join Mark Moy who will continue to instruct Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The revamped 2015 schedule features these improvements/enhancements: 1) Three nights of Beginner level instruction with three different instructors. These classes are designed to develop a strong base of core skills and basic steps, and as experienced dancers will tell you, these always bear repeating! 2) One night of Intermediate classes, intended for the student with a minimum of one year of ballroom instruction and at least 15 weeks in the particular style. These classes will focus on more advanced steps and refinement of frame, footwork and technique. They are designed to take the experienced dancers dancing to the next level. 3) Two consecutive 5-week sessions of a style will be offered on the same night at the same time. This allows you to take 10 continuous weeks of a style at either level. The first 5 week session is not required to join the second session. We look forward to ringing in 2015 and invite you to spread the word and join us the first week of January to meet our instructors and check out the changes!
