Dear Mr. Hedgecoth, Thank you for contacting me regarding the Obama administrations failure to lead. We are in complete agreement that President Obamas administration must be held accountable for their actions and as a proud member of the Tea Party Caucus I am committed to using every tool at my disposal to reverse this Presidents executive overreaches, abuses of power, and burdensome mandates. Specific to your request that a prosecutor be appointed to investigate the possibility of impeachable offenses, we must remember that the Democrat led Senate would ultimately have to act on any findings that resulted from such investigation, which they have shown they are unwilling to do. For this reason, my focus remains on using my position in Congress to combat President Obamas out of touch policies and offer conservative alternative solutions. When President Obama went against the will of the American people to implement a government takeover of healthcare, I fought back by voting to defund this law. When the President continued his reckless spending to support massive entitlement programs, I fought to force a vote on a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution and worked with House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan to draft a fiscally responsible budget that balanced the budget within a decade. When President Obama and Secretary Janet Napolitano used the excuse of sequestration to grant backdoor amnesty to some 2,000 illegal immigrants, I immediately sent Secretary Napolitano a letter urging her to reverse this disastrous decision. And when President Obama and Eric Holder withheld needed documents from investigations into the failed Operation Fast and Furious, I voted to hold the Attorney General in contempt of Congress. You can rest assured that I will continue fighting tooth and nail to reverse the Presidents irresponsible policies and to hold him and his administration accountable for decisions made during the next four years. Sincerely, Diane Black Member of Congress
