Dear Mr IGP, Seasons greetings to you, your family and the entire - TopicsExpress

Dear Mr IGP, Seasons greetings to you, your family and the entire police service. Please pardon me for rudely intruding into your home this morning to distract you a little from your holiday mood. I hope so far your holiday has been a good one. Indeed everything on the road points to this fact. Indications on the road are that your table will be so welcoming considering the numerous GHC5.00 that are been collected on the road in your name in the full glare of the public as if to say that you have given tacit approval to your men to do the collection on your behalf. If indeed youre aware that this is going on, then please pardon me to say that it is repugnant, appalling, reprehensible, unprofessional and above all an insult to the intelligence of the Ghanaian tax payer from whose sweat youre paid. I had a very bad experience on the kasoa road on the 26th of December, 2014, boxing day, where I was accused together with five other drivers and arrested for over- speeding. What is interesting here is that, all the six of us were caught over speeding at the same time with one speed gun and we all recorded the same speed rate and time. I dare ask you Mr IGP whether it is possible to use one speed gun to conjure the kind of magic your men conjured on us that faithful day? I am writing to officially inform you that your men have desecrated the avowed motto of your honourable dishonorable service of which youre the head and not the tail. Service with integrity, I hear that is your motto. With above narration I gave you in respect of my kasoa experience, after about several hours of deliberate delay, back and forth, I was able to save myself with just GHC5.00, Yes! You heard me right! GHC5.00 did the magic for me in the long run. That was what was collected from me and many other road users; others paid more though. Can you then vouch again for the SERVICE WITH INTEGRITY mantra? Is the service now taxed with the collection of GHC5.00 on the road? As for the integrity, the least said about it the better because theres non left especially on the road. What this means is that, you will have to engage in some house cleaning and reorientation of your men and women especially those who have made it their business to extort money and render daily sales to their superiors. I have often heard from the grapevine that most of these men in uniform who wantonly and blatantly engage in these corrupt activities are the ones who have chosen not to further their education or cannot pursue any further education due to their abysmal level of intelligence. I have also heard that theres a cliche in the service that if you cannot go to school or become an officer then make money what kind of thinking is this? Mr IGP, how on earth is this possible? Are the Ghanaian people the ones to blame for giving you their hard earned cash to recruit unintelligible men and women? We are monitoring your men on our roads with all the available technological opportunities available to us and will at the appropriate time expose the rot inherent in your service to the international media because over the years you have paid leap service to the fight against corruption within your rank and file. The time has come for you to get to work seriously and expose the rot in your service which has now become a source of disservice to the people of Ghana. Having said this, I will like to say that there are however a few men of honor in your service who are in the minority and as such overshadowed by humongous cloud of corrupt men and women. However, it is still important to encourage them to continue to stay clean. Honestly, it will be in your interest to purge the service of those who have sworn to tarnish the image of the Ghana Police Service. The thievery in the service apart from always topping the league of corrupt institutions in the Afro Barometer Survey is gradually gaining some unspeakable international notoriety. This is just a friendly advice from me to you. I am forever on your back; I remain your friend. Yours faithfully Lord Pius Apprey Cc: President Mahama GJA The police council CNN BBC VOA DW Tv CCTV SMCAP greets you all
