Dear Mr. Konerko, I had the pleasure of meeting you once - TopicsExpress

Dear Mr. Konerko, I had the pleasure of meeting you once while bartending your charity event. You could tell how much it meant to me. You were kind and engaging and allowed me to talk to you about my favorite subject, The Chicago White Sox. The thing is, Paul, even if we never met I would feel like we knew eachother. Being a White Sox fan is different. Its a small, passionate group. Its a family. Its about family. I believe thats why I love nothing like the boys in Black and White. Im a fourth generation White Sox fan. My vivid memories of time at Comiskey with my family are some of my fondest. You became family, Paul. I watched from the left field line as you hit a grand slam in Game 2 of the World Series. I cringed when, already out of the race, you took a fastball to the face. Then got up. Then hit a homerun. I held my breath as I waited for you to re-sign and re-sign and re-sign. When a player retires it becomes an odd time of grieving. This will be the toughest. For your passion, for your leadership, for the way you represented the White Sox, thank you. Legends never die, Kevin
