Dear Mr. President: Please stand firm and please remember, social security has nothing to do with the deficit. If you want to improve the long term solvency of Social Security, simply lift the earnings cap and stop allowing the Congress to dip into the fund, then the problem is solved. Cutting the income to seniors in my state would be devastating to our states economy. The State of New Mexico already bears some of the worst statistics regarding food security and well-being for children and our elderly. In fact, New Mexico ranks 2nd for the most elderly citizens living in abject poverty. Please dont abandon the vulnerable for these Extortionists in Congress!
