Dear Ms. Banks...your lack of education is telling and yet what I would expect from a person educated in America. The people you wish to make reparations is foolish at best since they never had any direct involvement...unless you plan on introducing family trees as evidence. Your journey is going to be long. Really long. First and foremost less than 4% of all Slaves taken out of Africa arrived in America...nor were they transported by a large fleet of American ships. Slavery has been going on since the beginning of time...unfortunately. People from the Middle-East have been taking Africans to the middle-east and northern Africa for centuries before the Atlantic Trade opened up. They assisted with the Trade because white Europeans couldnt deal with the heat of interior Africa. So your first stop will be to track down all the Middle-Eastern countries who were involved. Then you will want to track down the African Kings who worked with these folks to bring Africans to the west coast of Africa for loading on ships. Those ships in order of involvement would include Portugal, England, France, Dutch and Spain. Then you will need to track down those African countries involved in the trade...Chad, Cameroon, Bantus, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Togo, Senegal, Gambia, Guiana, Sierra, Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, Congo, Mozambique, Leone, and Tanzania. Now since Kenya was very involved in the trade and acted as a major port...you never know what surnames might show up on the list. Since less that 4% of these poor people arrived in America...millions dying during the crossing...you will want to contact families in El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Costa Rica, Brazil, Belize, Caribbean, Jamaica, Europe (from top to bottom) and all over the Middle-East. Good luck on your search...and my sincere apologies that you cant let it go. Maybe you should focus on telling the real story. But...if you need help...talk to Al...Im sure he can help.
