Dear NC AR NPs, I am involved with a growing group of NPs from - TopicsExpress

Dear NC AR NPs, I am involved with a growing group of NPs from across the State who are finalizing Bylaws and incorporation for Arkansas NP Association, ANPA, which is the first State NP only group. We have held back from announcing this too early, but since the Bylaws and incorporation status has moved along well, I would like to communicate some of the vision. The goals and mission are for networking, education, practice support, communication and collaboration. The Bylaws have mirrored those of several of the States around us who have had NP associations for 20+ years. Our structure will be to be the State Group and have District groups who will have a voting board member on ANPAs board. The NP association will support the districts and the districts will be able to conduct their local activities. Anyone who joins the ANPA, will automatically be a member of the districts. There is a South Central AR NP association that will be the S Central District. There are other regional groups that we are communicating with about becoming the group who represents the District member for that geographical area. The advantage to a State Group is that we will have Statewide networking, and with a larger membership, our NP strength can be solidified and our Voice significant. I believe that there will be some legislation in the upcoming session that we have a greater chance than ever to succeed. I cant speak of this now, but when I can, I will inform this group promptly. I would like to propose that the North Central AR NP group vote to become a District of the ANPA. Dues will go to the ANPA association and the ANPA association will help support the Districts financially. I would be happy to have some NPs who are working on District Development speak with you. I am very, very excited as this is evolving. As the AANP State representative, I have access to strong support from AANP for this independent State association and I have great resources for our NP professional practice advancement. Please consider this and let me know if I can supply more information or answer questions. Best, Katherine
