Dear Northallerton Friends REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL - SUNDAY 29 JUNE LETS CELEBRATE - Northallerton Homegrown Food Festival 2014 - Applegarth - Reflection Breaking the rule book ( not actually sure there is a rule book ! ) RTBC follows on directly from yesterday and doubly celebrates a town event concept which has become the premier must attend event in the local summer calender - certainly the only place to be today was the Applegarth. I mentioned yesterday that anticipation was electric + expectations were high - however what can I say ! - event delivery was spectacular and more than matched expectations - all bases were well covered - all participants rose to the occassion and quite simply gave customers many memorable experiences during their attendance - inc relationship building + variety + friendly / knowledgeable advice + quality offer + tastings + value for money - which are endearing steps to build a customer base and ensure return business. Forgive my personal indulgence - however the specialist homemade scotch eggs from Clucking Pig stall were delicious - yum yum ! So - reflecting - tremendous succesful event - well organised + well attended - the offer builds up exponentially every year - as such - we should all spare a thought for the small band of hard working organisers led by Chair Sally Anderson - who will also reflect on a job well done - but will more than likely be daunted ( may even be overwhelmed ) by thought that work has to start soon to plan next year and match next years expectations. I mentioned yesterday events of this size do not organise themselves and dont pay for themselves - so I guess when the appeal comes from the team for help in whatever shape or form - we must Think not what the event can do for you - Think what you can do for the event - the load needs to be better distributed within the community + Authorities so that the event remains sustainable rather than burning out the few. All willing helpers ( hopefully you know who you are ) - Northallerton needs to support the small hard working team who have shown us all how to deliver an amazing event
